Free tool · ERP Risk Test
How risky is your ERP project?
ERP projects usually struggle not because of the software, but because of decisions not made before the software: a project nobody owns, processes that depend on individuals, data that has not been cleaned, customisation that grows under “our business is different”. These causes are known and measurable. See your own picture in ten questions.
Tool
This tool calculates the result on MindDX Platform.
When you start the test, the same tool opens on MindDX Platform; the questions, the result and the privacy are the same. After the result you can come back to this page to read the interpretation and the recommended next step.
The tools ask for no sign-up or e-mail. Your answers are used to produce the test result.
What it measures
The test looks at the ten factors that most often make ERP projects struggle.
None of them is technical. All of them can be seen and fixed before the software is chosen and the project starts.
- 01Process standardisationSoftware speeds up a bad process; it does not improve it. Processes that depend on individuals are carried into the project.
- 02Management sponsorshipIf no one in top management owns the project, decisions are delayed and priorities clash.
- 03Change managementUnless the team is won over, trained and the transition is planned, the system is not adopted.
- 04Data qualityUncleaned inventory, account and product data is carried into the new system as it is.
- 05Internal resource allocationIf no internal team gives the project regular time, decisions are left to the consultant.
- 06Scope clarityIf it is unclear what is in scope, the scope surfaces in the middle of the project.
- 07Budget realismLicences and consulting get budgeted; internal effort is often forgotten.
- 08Customisation appetiteEvery customisation means retesting and maintenance at every version upgrade.
- 09Schedule pressureA “right now” timeline forces decisions made without measuring.
- 10Past experienceA failed past attempt can be repeated if the same causes are not addressed.
How to read the score
Next step
The score shows the risk. Assess shows why.
A high score is not a reason to stop the project; it signals the need to measure. Take an X-ray of your current state before choosing software: Assess shows with evidence where the risk is and why, and turns it into a Validated Scope.
Online and short. A first picture of your digital maturity: it shows where you are.
Start the scanA consultant-led, fixed-fee decision product. It shows with evidence why you are there, what needs to change and what should happen next.
FAQQuestions
Frequently asked questions
The most common causes are known: commitments made without measurement, uncleaned data, processes whose real behaviour is unknown, missing management ownership and unplanned change. The test looks at these causes.
Each answer is evaluated with a fixed formula, together with the weight of the factor it relates to; this produces a risk score from 0 to 100, a risk band and the riskiest factors. The same answers always give the same score. No AI is used.
The test is free and no contact details are required to see your score. Your answers are used to calculate the score.
Measure first. Take an X-ray of your current state before choosing software: a maturity assessment and an evidence-based scope take your investment decision out of guesswork. MindDX Assess exists for exactly this.
